The lead article, CheckPoint, is written by Adam Backman. In it, Adam explains what checkpoints are, how they work and how Asynchronous Page Writers can make them less painful. He also illustrates why having too many APWs running can be bad for you and how to achieve a proper balance.
Many thanks go to Jan Postema and also to Paul Koufalis for the first two parts in a series "Shell Scripting for Progress". The articles start with an introduction to the various components of the Progress environment, introduce a case study and go on to examine a scripting framework.
Paul Guggenheim has contributed an article illustrating "A Universal XML Table Exporter" which could save hard-pressed developers days, weeks or even months of work. For a Universal XML Import article you'll just have to subscribe to issue 66!
